Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Nothing here is a test. If your question isn't answered below, please ask.

Is this free?

Yes. The community, the free grief guide, the prayer requests, and the resources here are free. Some books, journals, and courses will be offered for purchase later, but nothing you need in order to belong here costs anything.

Is this counseling?

No. Present in the Pieces is peer support and Christian grief encouragement from one grieving mother to another. Dee is not a therapist, doctor, or licensed counselor. If you are in crisis or need clinical care, please reach out to a qualified professional or your local emergency services.

Can I join even if my loss happened years ago?

Absolutely. Whether your loss happened yesterday or twenty years ago, grief does not expire and neither does your welcome. Mothers at every stage of healing after losing a son or daughter belong here.

Is this only for mothers?

This space was built for grieving mothers, and that is who it speaks to most directly. But fathers, grandparents, siblings, and friends who are grieving the loss of a child are welcome to read, pray, and take what helps.

Do I have to be a Christian?

No. Faith is woven through everything here because it is what carried Dee, but nothing is forced. You are welcome exactly as you are — questioning, angry, unsure, or somewhere in between.

What happens when I join the community?

You'll receive your free guide right away, then Weekly Hope & Encouragement — gentle, faith-filled notes for grieving mothers. You can unsubscribe at any time, and your email is never sold or shared.

Is my prayer request private?

Yes. Prayer requests are confidential. They are never published on the site and never shared with anyone else.

How do I contact Dee?

Use the contact page and your message will come straight to her. She reads everything, and she answers as she is able.

Still have a question?

Dee would rather you ask than wonder.

Wherever you are in your grief…

You do not have to carry it alone.
